London's iconic red double decker buses get a hot makeover

Look who just got a makeover and a fantastic one at that; London’s iconic double-decker bus. The new revamped look was unveiled by Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London at the London Transport Museum. The future of the city’s public transportation looked spectacular and red hot in a full-size mock-up. Though it’s a stunning new design fit for the 21st century it is clearly modeled after the original Routemaster. The new bus is being manufactured by Wrightbus and the first prototype is scheduled to be delivered next year.

By 2012 another 5 buses will enter service and the timing is perfect. With Olympics around the corner you might just get a chance to take a trip in the new gen-next double-decker bus.
