Livescribe's Pulse Smart Pen can record and write
The Pulse Smart Pen can do two things at the same time. It can digitally record everything you write and hear. An integrated Infrared camera and two noise-canceling microphones embedded in the pen chassis aid in the recordings. The pen contains an ARM processor, built-in speakers, headphone jack and OLED display. The recordings of the pen can be transferred to the comp via USB plus the pen has a 250 MB memory. The pen even has translation functions and can convert what you write in English to another language. So far it supports Mandarin, Spanish and Arabic only. A special kind of paper is required for this pen and one book of this microdot paper comes with the pen.
Livescribe's Pulse Smart Pen will be out in March. The 1GB version will cost $149 and the 2GB model will sell for $199. The pens record approx 100 or 200 hours of audio respectively. Also, additional books cost $5 each.
