The latest LCD TV's, monitors, etc are going to great lengths to save power in a bid to go green. LG Korea has launched two new full HD smart monitors series 'W53/W54 Series' which will have models from 18.5 to 27 inches. The monitors come with a light sensor which adjusts the brightness based on ambient light conditions and also the content being view watched. I am not sure how smooth the transition would be, especially when surfing through multiple websites at once. Another smart feature is 'Cinema mode' which blacks out everything when watching online videos and 'Time Control' feature which reminds you to take a break from work to avoid eye strain. More breaks so more coffee, I wonder how employers will react to this. Pricing and availability is not known yet.
