There isn’t half as much excitement in reading a review of a gadget as there is in viewing the video. That’s what should be learnt from this fascinating grab of the LG GD900 at CTIA. The transparent keypad is definitely the highlight of the phone. It slides in and out pretty smoothly; this explains the stability of the slider (something that most LG phones haven’t lived up to). However, the transparent keypad is crystal clear and has some good response time with screen controls. The screen seems good enough eye candy, with the interactive menu system and stylish UI. I wish we’d have a go at the 8 megapixel camera but then it’s cool enough to have a good first glimpse of LG’s new cult phone.

The LG GD900 has posed as a new challenge for competitors. If the transparency of the phone is a hit then we can expect a lot more from contemporaries. It can be expected sometime in the second quarter of 2009. No word on the pricing though.
