LG and Orange in exclusive deal to sell watch phone across Europe

lg_watch_phone.jpg Orange has signed up to sell the Dick Tracey-inspired watch phone at a staggering 1000 GBP ($ 1425) per piece. The figure is not released yet but it is known that Orange agreed to the price for a cross-Europe exclusive on the device. This watch phone was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress by the Korean Manufacturer. The watch phone allows video and voice calling but requires the user to constantly wear the headset. This device is likely to only attract a small segment of the market, especially with the cost being 500 GBP ($ 712) with and additional minimum rental of 40 GBP ($ 57) a month. It is interesting to note that prototypes of watch phones were shown by many manufacturers but was never developed for large scale production.
