Lexus unveils the HS250h 35 mpg hybrid sedan

Lexus_HS250h_1.jpg The new Lexus HS250h slots between the IS and the ES, but many of the car's components seem sourced from the Toyota Camry hybrid. It is a 187 hp engine that borrows technology from the 2010 RX450h, using a similar exhaust heat recovery system to keep the engine warm and thus allowing it to shut down more often. Other fuel-saving tricks include infrared-ray reduction properties in the windshield, which reduce the need for air-conditioning. The new Remote Touch haptic controller we like so much in the new RX is available in the HS250h, too.

Being a Lexus, the HS250h features a long list of luxury features including a new wide-view front monitor system to produce a 190-degree front view on the nav screen at the push of the steering-wheel mounted button. No word on the pricing info as of now but stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
