Lexar Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3 Memory Sporting LEDs

lexar_crucial-ballistix-tracer.jpg Looking for a superfast memory? Check out Lexar's Crucial Ballistix Tracer. The latest addition in Lexar Media's memory line up is a high performance DDR3 PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333MHz) low-latency memory module. The memory is targeted towards computer enthusiasts who likes to have fun with their system, and doesn't mind shelling big bucks to satisfy their hunger for best performance hardware. The most interesting thing about this memory is its activity-indicating Light-Emitting Diodes (LED).

Can't digest the fact that RAM comes with LEDs? I understand that once inside a standard chassis they're going to be useless, but if you happen to be a modder or a high-end user with windowed cases then this memory module will definitely make your system look more flashy.

According to Lexar, the LEDs on the new Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3 modules allows users to visually see how intensely the memory is working. The LEDs are illuminated in a random pattern based on memory activity, highlighting the system memory. What's more, eight blue ground-effects LEDs emit a constant glow near the motherboard memory sockets.

“Our Crucial Ballistix Tracer modules deliver cutting edge, solid performance while adding a touch of style to any gaming or enthusiast system,” said Jeremy Mortenson, Lexar Media’s senior DRAM product marketing manager. “Enthusiasts are going to love our killer new lighting effects scheme that adds more LED placements along the memory module for an even more impressive—and functional—design.”

Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3 memory modules are available in 1GB and 2GB modules, or 2GB and 4GB kits.
