Its aluminum base eliminates the issue of excess heat shortening its life a since it absorbs the heat generated by the LED. This bulb fits into ordinary sockets and does not need anybody any special equipment to fix it, just push, and screw it in. There is no word on its pricing as of now but this will surely give some competition to the CFL technology that is out there.
