LED fitted micro-bugs form cool 3D faces

3D_faces.jpg I can imagine what it must have been, the first time those cute little micro-helicopters took off, sputtering and chugging into the air. Well, these little bugs have come a long way and now attach a LED with them and perform a synchronized-flying thing in the air to form a face. A 3D face, to be precise. The projected is called ‘Flyfire’. Tiny helicopters are used to form a 3D face and hey, it’s got its share of research done into it, especially with the ability to be choreographed according to the controller’s instructions.

The idea is to use each of the LED helicopters as a single pixel. However, stop baking pancakes in the air, this technology’s all theory. It’s a long time coming.
