For the Tomb Raider: Underworld promotions, Alison will be paraded as the protagonist and according to the Game creator Eidos Interactive, she embodies the essence of Croft--"brawn, brains, and beauty." Apparently a more agile Lara was required because the new offering features an athletic Lara. To prepare for her role Alison has embarked on a strict regime that includes survival, combat, and semiautomatic-weapons training and a course in world archaeology.

"This is a fantastic opportunity, and I look forward to embracing Lara's world," Carroll said. "It's unbelievable how realistic her movements are in Tomb Raider: Underworld, and it's so gratifying to be able to use my years of gymnastic training to portray such a beloved character."

Tomb Raider: Underworld comes to PCs, the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Nintendo's Wii and DS in November. It is co-published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
