Land Rover and Sonim Technologies bring out the almost indestructible Land Rover S1 phone

land_rover_s1_mobile_phone.jpg The name, Land Rover makes us visualize something really hard and powerful coming our way. It’s time to get out of this raging monster and, well, its new minion in tow. Here’s a geeks version of the Land Rover, and it’s a phone, a rather tough one. Christened as Land Rover S1, the phone has been produced by the car company in collaboration with Sonim Technologies. The catch is that this phone can withstand anything from a pressure of 400 kilograms to being submerged in 3.3 feet water for half an hour! Surely a freak in the cell phone world, the S1 also come in with its share of specifications to dazzle. These include a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, FM, memory expansion slot, Bluetooth and WAP support. The real winner of specs is the battery life that seems to last an eternity. The S1 has a stand-by time of 1500 hours and a talk time of 18 hours of talk time.

The Land Rover S1 will be available only in the UK for $490. This will surely ease all those adventure woes, not needing you to leave the phone behind in the car when it’s raining.
