Kurara officially announced as Sony Ericsson Vivaz, a rose by another name…

Sonyericsson_Vivaz.jpg Sony Ericsson was planning on launching the much talked about, yet unannounced touchscreen handset nicknamed the Kurara, sometime this year. Well it’s here now in its official capacity but isn’t called the Kurara anymore. The handset is officially called the Vivaz and looks pretty awesome. Adopting Sony Ericsson’s Human Curvature design form, the handset looks quite like a slightly smaller version of the Xperia X10. It’s running on a Symbian OS (S60 5th Edition) but Sony Ericsson has added their five panel UI like in the Satio. According to Sony, the Vivaz is designed to be ‘optimized of video capture and sharing’ and features an 8MP camera with continuous auto-focus (720p recording). The 3.2-inch display should make viewing easy.

The Vivaz is going to be launched in the last part of the quarter of this year, and is going to be part of new range of devices designed for Communication Entertainment. There’s no price on it yet, but it’s possible it’ll be better priced than the Satio. It’ll also be available in four colors viz. Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue, and Venus Ruby.
