Incheon City authorized the Portman consortium to build 151-story twin towers in Songdo International City in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. As of yet known as Incheon Tower, the twin towers will be connected by three sky bridges and house a hotel, a convention center, offices and a shopping mall. The multi-phased $11 billion project is part of Korea’s efforts to transform 1,500 acres of reclaimed land into an unrivaled business hub for Northeast Asia. The construction consortium led by Portman Holdings plans to complete the tower by August 2010. With inclusion of the 151-story twin tower in the FEZ, Incheon will be transformed into a world-class business city on par with Shanghai and Dubai. The twin towers will become the landmark that symbolizes Korea's future growth potential and opportunities.

Incheon Tower is set to be the world’s second tallest building behind the 160-story Burj Dubai that is under construction in the Gulf state.
