Konica Minolta Japan has unveiled the world's brightest Organic EL backlight which has a brightness of 1,000 cd/m2. The backlight will be used in mobile phones and other portable devices so the display can be viewed clearly even under bright light. No word from Konica Minolta as to when the technology will be commercialized.
