Getting kids to brush their teeth is as easy as making them eat peas or Brussels sprouts! To make this Herculean task easy is this unique toothbrush innovated by Taiwan university researchers led by Hao-hua Chu. LED modules containing 3 LED's are mounted onto one end of the toothbrush. A web camera mounted onto a mirror in front can track this. The camera uses computer software to track the movements of the toothbrush. This information is fed as an input into the computer, which displays a game that the Taiwan university researchers have developed. The game displays a set of graphic colorful teeth which become white as and when the child moves his/her toothbrush over the teeth. Since most kids are into gaming these days, this method offers an apt solution. While the team is at it, can they come up with something for feeding kids peas or Brussels sprouts?
