Kenwood Japan has announced the Keg HD30GB9, successor to the HD30A9. One of the major differences between the two is inclusion of an enhanced digital amplifier. The Keg HD30GB9 comes with a 30GB Hard Drive and 2.2 inch 320 x 240 pixel TFT display, but with a mammoth hard drive and a large display it does not support video playback which seems like a complete waste. It supports MP3/WMA/WAV/WMA DRM and Kenwood Lossless formats for music playback. The Lithium Ion battery provides 20 hours of continuous playback.

The Kenwood Keg HD30GB9 measures 61 x 17 x 104mm and weighs 140 grams. It will be available by end of this month in Japan for 50,000 Yen ($ 425).
