JVC UX-GN6 Boombox resurrected from the 80s plays with iPod

jvc-touchscreen-boombox.jpg In the 80s Boomboxes were all the rage and the major manufacturers competed as to who could produce the biggest, loudest, clearest sounding, bassiest, flashiest and/or most novel boomboxes. Although as the decade progressed, manufacturers tended to compete more on price (often at the expense of quality) and smaller designs (often designed for simple background listening) became more popular. JVC has just unveiled a carry-around stereo system, the UX-GN6. The UX-GN6 boasts 120 watts of power and features a "wake up" mode that works by waving a hand in front of the system to illuminate the controls and the LED display.

The JVC UX-GN6 Boombox well set you back by approx $200, and features touchscreen controls, an iPod dock, USB support, CD player, radio and video out so iPod video can be played through a connected TV.
