Japanese space scientists develop the diaper toilet

space_toilet.jpg The couch potatoes dream seems to be coming true, the seemingly mundane task of getting off the couch to visit the loo will soon be replaced by a toilet in your pants. Scientists at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have teamed up with engineers from the private sector to develop a next-generation space toilet. This toilet will be worn by astronauts like a diaper, the diaper is sensor laden and detects when a user is.. well you know.. relieving themselves. This activates the rear-mounted suction unit that draws the waste away from the body through tubes into a separate container.

Apart from all this it manages keep the user clean and odor free, we sure hope this technology limits its usage to space only. Nobody wants to walk by a severely constipated person in a public area.
