Its a bird, its a plane no it is ESG Gryphon

gryphon1.jpgGermany based ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH and Dräger have developed a new parachute system known as Gryphon. It is aimed at the military as parachutists can be dropped up-to 40 kilometres away from the landing zone and then glide silently and near invisible to any radar cover thus saving the plane as well as the parachutists from hostile ground fire. The ESG Gryphon allows the wearer to carry upto 100 kilograms of equipment. Plans are on for integrating small turbo jet drives for greater range and take offs from much lower height.

Pricing and availability is not known, but thrill seakers will find this contraption very interesting.
