It is official Sony Playstation 3 global release in November

After numerous posts on the PS3 launch speculation Sony has finally broken the ice. At the Playstation conference at Tokyo, Sony Computer Entertainment honcho Ken Kutaragi announced that the Playstation 3 will launch in Europe and America on November 11th simultaneously. The PS3 will ship with a 60GB hard drive and will support dual layer Blu-Ray discs (50 GB) with playback of BD software at high bit rates. It will include HDMI and will be compatible with all kinds of TV's and broadband connection. The PS3 will offer full backward compatibility and have hi-res and texture filtering for all titles. Every PS3 game will be on Blu-Ray disc to curb piracy. More details after the jump.


Sony plans to produce a million units a month and initial BD-ROM products is exptected to reach 2.5 million in Japan and 5 million in the States. Prices will be starting from 50,000 Yen ($ 425).
