i-Sobot deservingly wins 2008 Robot of the year title

Sobot.JPG A British scientist is calling for immediate introduction of robot ethics guidelines amid surging use of the machines and concern about their lack of human responsibility while caring for children or the elderly. However, this doesnt stop a robot from winning a contest. The i-Sobot has won the coveted 2008 Robot of the year title. The robot contains three CPU chips, which control the robot’s general processing, voice recognition, and servo control systems. It features recognizing over 200 words and phrases, programmable memory, 200 pre-programmed movements, remote control, hexagon wrench, action chart, operation manual and 3 AAA batteries.

The i-Sobot is very interactive, and features voice activation. The way this little robot moves is sensational thanks to the gyro-sensor technology for balance and freely moving joints. You can get one of these for approx $80 via Amazon.
