Is Wistron GW4 Smartphone gearing up to be the First Google Android Phone?

Wistron_GW41.jpg Wistron GW4 smartphone was introduced at the CES 2008. Although it's running on Linux for the moment, Wistron says the GW4 will run on the Google Android when it's presented to big firms on March 2008 for branding. If all goes through then this will make it the first phone to run on the Andoid. The GW4 features a touch screen with a QWERTY keyboard. It has GPRS connectivity with 3G being introduced by the end of the year.

Specs include:
- Networks supported- GSM/GPRS (without EDGE)
- Chipset - TI OMAP 1710 216 MHz CPU and 64 MB of memory
- Display – 2.5" 320x240 pixels touchscreen
- 2-megapixel camera
- Wi-Fi 802.11g Built-in SIP VOIP-client
- Opera browser; Widgets (i.e. weather forecast of share rating)
