Is Robocar Z the foundation for autonomous cars?
Japanese robotics company ZMP is the creator of the Robocar Z. The purpose of this is to teach us the future of robot-controlled cars. This vehicle has a protruding which holds two cameras with the latest state of the art image recognition system. This robocar is thought to be an ideal platform for testing robotized vehicle automation before we all go big time. The Robocar Z has its own API and runs on Linux and the basic model will cost atleast $7000 to build. That means in the future we could actually have Knight Rider types on the road. Wonder if I can become Kit!
