Movie watchers today are not just film lovers, they comprise of passionate gamers, the burger seller don the road, the average internet addict among many others. Industry watchers often warn game developers that they are competing not only with other game companies, but also with other forms of entertainment, such as movies. The April 29 release of Rockstar's GTA IV may eat into ticket sales for the May 2 theatrical release of Iron Man.

No one really worries about a different medium interfering with ticket sales. However, the sales expectations for Grand Theft Auto IV may have a negative impact on the release of Iron Man. But from the way things are the analysts could be wrong with this as I still go out to see a movie after driving around like a maniac in GTA.
