iRiver U10 with Direct click
iRiver's brand-new portable audio/video device offers an interesting new twist. The centerpiece of the U10 is its 2.2-inch colour display, which also doubles up as the control interface. Unlike the touchscreens normally used on PDAs, the U10's 'direct click' feature should responds to gentle pressure from the fingertip, eliminating the need for pens and control keys. The iRiver U10 measures just 69x47x16mm, which is smaller than a box of playing cards. Hardly tipping the scales at just 70g, this versatile device supports the playback of music, video, flash animations, still images, games, and text files. There's even an optional retro-style docking station available.
The U10's operating concept does away with all extra controls that could distract from its sleek lines. The player's display has a resolution of 320x240 pixels (QVGA), so should be adequate for viewing JPEG or MPEG4 (SP) files on the go. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 90dB, the U10 should be a reasonable performer when it comes to audio playback, too. Via - BIOS
