iRing controls your iPhone, iPad music for just $25

by Gareth Mankoo

It is a given that all device names pre-fixed with a lower script ‘i’ are made to be compatible with Apple devices. Then you may wonder what good a ring would do. It so happens that the iRing accessory helps control your music through hand gestures made by the hand its worn on. With support for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, the ring communicates with your device’s camera to action a particular command. The iRing has been developed by IK Multimedia and supports some leading music apps including GrooveMaker and VocaLive.

As of now, the company is focused on building the iRing and its functions to music applications only. However, in time to come, we could soon see this being implemented on fitness and gaming applications. Cost-wise, the iRing is quite affordable, being priced at just $25.
