iPods used to educate the New York police recruits
I can imagine the look on Cadet Mahoney if he were given the iPod whist he was in the Academy. I suspect the film series would have gone on the Carry On series way…sorry, can’t refrain myself from naughty thoughts. Jokes aside, The New York Police Department is putting the iPod to good use by handing them out to the academy recruits. Apparently they have to use the iPod (listen and watch) loaded with coursework on the subway. The iPods are "fully loaded" with subject matter including criminal procedure, New York State Penal Law, warrants, ethics and community policing. Since many of the students use the sub to class, it makes sense to utilize the ride from home to class in this constructive manner.
"Now a recruit can watch a class on 'search and seizure' while going home on the subway," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said in a statement. The current academy class includes 947 recruits and is scheduled for graduation on Dec. 27.
