iPhone users cramping up AT&T’s network

att-logo.jpg Roger Entner, a telecom research analyst for Nielsen, quoted that an average iPhone user consumes over 400 MB data every month compared to 40-80 MB data by other smart phone users. This load has further increased after the iPhone OS 3.0 was made available for download and AT&T network is having trouble keeping up with this huge load. AT&T has more number of iPhone customers as compared to other carrier and number of iPhone users is steadily increasing everyday. AT&T fears that may not be able to keep up with the ever increasing demand for data transfer and may collapse due to the heavy load. This is probably the reason AT&T is reluctant to add support to new features for iPhone users. To tame the rumors doing the rounds AT&T released a press release stating the new upgrades to its network to keep up with the huge demand and iPhone users hope that the MMS and tethering work flawlessly with these upgrade.
