Intel’s Core i7 is the world’s fastest desktop chip

Intel_Core_i7.jpg As time goes by, PCs will be faster. But hold on, this little chip is unusually faster, especially when overclocking. The cool-running 3.3 GHz Intel Core i7-975 extreme edition is a $1000 quad-core chip mainly aimed at gamers who can shell out $8000 for a PC. This chip wasn’t even straining itself at a much higher speed and there was only a small voltage bump when it reached the 50 degree C maximum temperature. Imagine! This was without the liquid cooling. You can get one of these but let me remind you, these are short-lived, because in some time this will become an average chip like all others!
