Inflatable seat belt to make crashes fun
Finally Ford decides that it is about time that people that are not behind the wheel of a car also need to be protected against crashes! The gen-next Ford Explorer will come equipped with inflatable rear seatbelts which will inflate automatically when an accident occurs. The idea is not to cushion the body during the moment of impact, but according to Ford it aims at reducing "head, neck and chest injuries for rear seat passengers, often children and older passengers who can be more vulnerable to such injuries,". Why not use pillows instead?
