In-dash touchscreens may be thwarted by driver distraction rules

Tesla Model X and several interactive navigation and entertainment devices will lose all hope of existence if the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) goes on to succeed in its endeavor. Just about ever device will win the accolade of a distractive device. This will also see the end of Minority Report-like touch interfaces that we were looking forward to on windshields. There's also a plus point to the whole move. The commission advised manufacturers to go with more simplified interfaces.
