Here’s one of those firsts that we see when you turn back the pages of tech history or attend a quiz competition at a gizmo fair. Imation have begun shipping the world’s first wireless USB external hard drive. Called the Pro WX drive, this drive provides with good data transfer speed, high capacity of storage (1.5 terabytes) as well as faster reads and writes. All of this, packed into a 3.5 mm form factor, gives us a lot of food for thought. The benefits are never ending. USB data speeds of up to 15 MB/s are quite welcome. It is also great on the security front, with better protection of your data with the one-to-one connectivity that fends off those who seek to intercept your data.

The Imation Pro WX hard drives are available for $450 in the US. It is available with all authorized Imation dealers, wholesalers and e-tailers.
