HTC unveiled its latest Windows Mobile smart phone, the HTC Touch HD by accident on the official HTC website for some time. Integrating a large 3.8-inch WVGA display, a standard 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, the HTC Touch HD is targeted at multimedia enthusiasts. The stylish new HTC Touch HD also features the TouchFLO 3D user interface. The ultra-slim HTC Touch HD all-touch phone is the first HTC smartphone to focus heavily on multimedia features. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201a chipset (same as found in the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro), and 288MB RAM, the all-touch HTC Touch HD promises to render websites quickly and in full-page width. In combination with HSDPA support, the HTC Touch HD will allow users to browse their favorite Web sites and services, such as Google Maps and YouTube. An integrated RSS reader also aims to provide up to the minute news, blog posts, and video podcasts.
The HTC Touch HD supports Quad-band GSM and European HSDPA 7.2 Mbps support, the HTC Touch HD will be available in Q4 2008 throughout Europe. Other markets will follow later on, which could indicate that HTC is in talks with U.S. carriers to release the HTC Touch HD in the United States early next year.
