Hi-tech ambulances added to Calgary EMS fleet

ambulance.jpg Calgary EMS has now decided to go for an overhaul for their ambulances. The first being the replacement of the rear view mirror with a real-time audio video screen. Apart from that an all new five point harness that makes the drivers feel like fighter pilots, of course with more stability for on board equipment and more hand rails. After two ambulance roll-overs in the past year and several injuries on the job the Calgary EMS fleet needed some serious work done on the design of the current fleet, and boy have they delivered! The new ambulances cost $24,000 for design and development; it was designed and manufactured by Demers Ambulance in Quebec.

The first of its kind Ambulance in North America will cost $180,000 before being fitted with all the necessary life-saving equipment.
