Hitachi announces super slim LCD TV's with wireless TV tuner

Hitachi Japan has expanded its Woo range of LCD TV's with the UT series. The super slim full HD TV's will be available in two sizes 42 and 37 inches. Supporting a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 the TV's are just 35mm thick (3.5 cms). In order to keep the temperature down it uses fan less heat radiation technology used in large servers. The onboard speakers deliver an output of 6W x 2 Ch. To maintain the slimness it does not have a TV tuner this is where the Wooo station comes into the picture. It is a bit bigger than the Wii and has dual TV tuners analog / digital, 3 x P 1080 complaint HDMI outputs and S-iVDR slots which allow you to record programs on SD / MMC cards. The Wooo station can be directly connected to the TV via HDMI or to a wireless transmitter, so you can have the transmitter in the living room and the receiver connected to the TV in the bedroom. The TV's have a viewing angle of 178 degrees and brightness of 450 cd/m2 and 500 cd/m2 respectively.

The Hitachi Wooo UT42 - XV700 (42 inch) superslim LCD will go on sale in Japan in April for 430,000 Yen ($ 3760) and UT37-XV700 (37 inch) for 330,000 Yen ($ 2885).
