Anything that goes to make your journey safer is always welcome, so here is another technology being developed that involves a baseball cap and wires. The cap is designed to analyze the brain's electroencephalogram (EEG) waves, and determines whether you are too tired to drive or not. It is being developed by researchers at various Taiwan universities and the University of California at San Diego. The researchers expect to include other functions to the technology and hope to be less cumbersome than the elaborate setup used in 3D gaming devices. This latest version still requires "five embedded dry electrodes on the wearer's forehead and one electrode behind the left ear," and will transmit signals through a Bluetooth connection so they can be analyzed with a dual-core processor in real time.
