Harman Kardon introduces 4K display-ready AVR Series

by Gareth Mankoo

When we talk of top of the line display technology, then it’s got to be the massive fad of 4K displays hounding us. However, these generous resolution displays have little to offer along with them, as accessories. Hence, we take much joy in learning about the new line of AVR devices from the house of Harman Kardon. It comes in two distinct models, the first being the 2700, which offers 8 HDMI ports, Dolby True-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio, 3D image compatibility and 4K pass-through and upscaling technologies. Next is the 3700, which adds more sprinkles of excellence to the former. It comes with a 7.2-channel surround with 125 watts per channel output that’s significantly enhanced as compared to the 7.1-channel surround sound with 100 watts per channel in the 2700.

Botu models offer AirPlay support and DLNA-certified 1.5 Ethernet connectivity. The Harman Kardon AVR 2700 and 3700 are presently available for about $800 and $1,000, respectively.
