What makes Griffin's Evolve Wireless iPod speakers really different is that they are truly wireless. They manage the feat because of the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in the speakers themselves. Once they're fully charged (they charge via the base station's cradle), Griffin says they can be placed anywhere within 150 feet. Since they work via RF, placing them in adjoining rooms and nearby outdoor spaces (patios, decks) is possible. Once fully charged the speakers deliver up to10 hours of playing time. The base station's line-in cradle accepts a stereo input from practically any source. So it's not only the iPod that you can listen to. The base station, however still needs a power cord.

Griffin's Evolve Wireless iPod speakers will be available at Best Buy's both online and brick-and-mortar stores. They have started shipping the speakers yesterday. Pick them up for $300.
