GPS enabled PDA Dopod P100
Dopod International launched its first GPS-enabled PDA, the Dopod P100. The launch of the GPS-enabled device is part of Dopod’s plan to expand its product mix beyond its current lineup of smartphones and PDA phones, Tong stated. The P100, which runs under the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS and features built-in Wi-Fi wireless connectivity, boasts GPS capability and can download the maps of as many as 80-90 cities in Asia. Dopod plans to unveil more than 10 smartphones and PDA phones in 2006. Currently, Dopod outsources all production of its smartphones, PDA phones, and GPS-devices to Taiwan-based High Tech Computer (HTC).
