Google’s Nexus One is finally out, features and specs galore, Apple quivers

Google_Nexus_One.jpg Break out those drums and sound the trumpets Google’s Phone, the Nexus One has been officially announced at Google's own headquarters in Mountain View, California, USA. The device has been revealed after peeking its head out from behind the curtain. Google’s favorite mobile manufacturers HTC is also partly responsible for the Nexus One’s design ad development as we already knew. The best part about the handset, and this is for the non-iPhone fans outs there, it’s lighter and slimmer than the 3GS with a large 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution and comes with a 5MP camera with smile detection and geo-tagging. The Google package will include the new Google Maps Navigation.

There is of course plenty of social networking and Google affiliated content. The new tweaked Android OS, v2.1 is apparently running quite smoothly according to a number of reports on the Nexus One’s Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor CPU. What it lacks is multi-touch which may or may not be missed by most users but I do feel that it makes it ever so slightly vulnerable when it comes to over features. Hopefully its array of other features and its speed will overshadow this minor absence. The company is also claiming that the handset will be capable of offering users up 7 hours of talk time from its 1400 mAH battery. The handset will be available via mobile operators in the US but Google has primarily aimed the device at the World mobile user so yes, it will be unlocked and sold over the counter for a price of $529. Eat your heart out Apple, Nexus One is going to rock the first half of 2010.
