Google Nexus-1 Makes Blade Runner Angry

There is no way in hell any Sci-Fi fan on the planet of any generation would have missed Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner. Now incidentally, for the non Sci-Fi fans, the movie is based on a book by acclaimed author Philip K. Dick called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? This particular book, as awesome as it may be, the movie too by the way, is currently in a bit of controversy with Google. One of the main characters in the story played by Rutger Hauer, is if you’ll recall, called Nexus-6. See where I’m with this. The search giant is apparently going to be sued by Philip’s family for use of the name.

The daughter of the famous author has claimed that Google hasn’t asked the family for use of the name and so begins the saga. Since the cyborgs were named Nexus with numbers, it’s quite possible that Google just may at some point of time also have a mobile phone that would end up as a Nexus-6. Of course Google denies that the phone’s name has anything to do with the book or movie, but one never knows these things till a ruling right? Right?
