Google Earth to get a shot in the arm with GeoEye-1 satellite

geo-eye_satellite.jpg With the financial flexibility that Google has its all set to use the imaging capabilities of the soon to be launched GeoEye1 satellite on Sept4 will provide with licensing to This new satellite will have the capability of providing us with high detail imagery of a big city in a day. The level of detail will give you the power of dragging that zoom slider all the way to 50cm per pixel. Yes! that will not be able to show the License plate of vehicles but show you if the neighbour does trash out your lawn in the wee hours of the morning. Google plans to to license imagery for their mapping products from this satellite and provide for very accurate geolocation for added GPS capabilities. As a show of dominance it even has got its Logo on the side of the satellite in case one of us finally figures out how to scan the sky for unfamiliar satellites spying on us. Of course if you see Google on it just wave.!!
