gm500_1.jpg All of a sudden I get this feeling that the focus has shifted to packing everything into a wristwatch size device. The GM500 from General Mobile is a wristwatch-type GSM mobile phone which was showcased during CeBIT 2008. It measures only 58.1 x 44.2 x 16.4 mm and weighs 142g (battery and metal wristband included). It probably is the smallest GSM mobile phones ever created. Specs include hands-free, touchscreen technology with a 1.5 inch OLED display, Phone calls, SMS and MMS, music and video support. The GM500 is also a tri-band GSM device(900, 1800 and 1900 MHz) that comes with GPRS, WAP, internet capabilities, Bluetooth and USB data transfer, mp3 playback, video player (MPEG4 and 3GP) and voice recorder. It boasts of 128MB of built-in memory and can store 300 phonebook entries.

The GM500 from General Mobile has a 400 mAh Li-ion battery and is capable of providing 120 minutes of talk time and about 80 hours of stand-by time. It will be out in the second quarter of 2008 for around 599 Euros or $923.
