Flexible TV screen that folds and bends
Scientists have done some tinkering on the good old design of our trusty TV screens and fashioned an ultra-thin, flexible screen that can be literally folded up and slipped into your pocket. It boasts of being less than a millimeter thick and could be used in televisions, computers and phones. Who knows one day it could even be used as an e-paper. Working with Sony, researchers at the Max Planck Institute in Germany have created the design, which could lead to a new fashion revolution; wearable TV screen Jackets that display digital content! Other usage may also include flexible laptop screens, and TV blankets. Researchers have created a flexible and transparent screen that requires very less of energy to power it.
The Flexible TV screen is made up of organic molecules that emit light in all directions to produce an image, which gives an almost infinite viewing angle. Scientists also suggest that if we stack the screens up a 3D effect could be emulated.
