Ferrari goes green, plans to use 40% less fuel by 2012
Another one joining in the green bandwagon is our sports car specialist- Ferrari. They plan on making their cars use 40% less fuel thus emitting lesser CO2 by 2012. They are going to experiment with lighter materials and increasing their engine performance to achieve this goal. Since Ferrari spends almost 17% of their sales on research and development, hopefully their innovation will pay off. As it is they plan on selling not more than 6000 cars this year, they believe that this number doesn't make such a big impact on the environment.
They plan on bringing down the CO2 emissions from 400 grams per kilometer per vehicle to 280-300 by the same target date.

40% is nothing to sneeze at. Before the 360 Modena F1, no other road car had a paddle shift transmission, and now you can get them on a Pontiac! Let's hope Ferrari will lead the way for others once again.
