2 weeks from now Facebook will have online chat, similar to Gtalk's online chat window the program will sit at the bottom of the page showing open chat windows and number of friends online. The user can pop out the entire chat interface into a separate window to show online friend lists and current conversations to allow for real time communication within the popular social network.

The number of programs running on Facebook are mind boggling enough to make me wonder if this will truly be good for all its users or just another feature to kill time if that's not something already being done and so happily encouraged by the site.
