Elecom Japan has announced the ASP-WP8 iPod dock which has a vintage look. Instead of the traditional plastic and fibre it is made of high quality wood. The dock is compatible with 2nd generation iPod Nanos The controls are placed next to the dock connector itself, via the stereo mini slot you can connect other audio sources too. The speakers deliver an output of 5.5W×2ch. The unit comes with a fully functional remote control so you can unwind sitting on your couch listening to your favourite tunes. The classy dock will be available in a choice of three wooden finishings.

The Elecom ASP-WP8 wooden iPod dock measures 220×100×60mm and weighs 630 grams. It will be available from October end for 16,095 Yen ($ 135)
