For the hardcore mobile users and by that I really mean the ones that are either overly clumsy with their handsets or those that enjoy the outdoors and can’t live without their phones, KDDI and Okinawa cellular have announced the funky new “G'zOne TYPE-X” mobile handset. Casio Computer Co., Ltd. are also in on the manufacturing to throw in a little of their G-Shock treatment. The phone is waterproof (IPX5/IPX8 certified) dustproof and shock resistant compliant with military standards. It’s a clamshell styled device that features an IPS LCD display on the inside (3.2-inches) and a smaller memory LCD external display (1.1-inch, VGA). Other features include microSDHC card support (up to 32GB). A 12 megapixel CMOS sensor camera is also strapped on and the device is also Wi-Fi enabled.

This CDMA also offers a LISMO Music Video Book feature, sports features and more and weighs in at 179g. 390 minutes is the estimated battery life for talk time with 390 hours of standby. It’ll be available in 3 colors of green, lead-red and black and will be out November 25th in Japan. Prising has not been announced.
