Can your pickup do 516mph? This one can
Thinking out of the box has been the theme of the 20th century. Looking at what we have here, I dread the abuse of ideas that are yet to come. Yet, I have to be hypocritical about the effort and thought put into the making of these jet powered pickups. A certain Chris Lentz from Michigan decided to load his truck with a massive M-701 jet engine. The result? He landed up with a monster machine that could do 516mph thanks to the whopping 2,700 hp. The jet engine uses a 20 gallon kerosene tank and of course, you would need a really straight, pot-hole free road to zoom across. I wonder how the hood of the Ford F-150 would stay put at those speeds. I also wonder what would happen to anyone or anything that would come in its way.
The M-701 jet engine costs a whopping $10,000. All the legal permits and arrangements for trying such a machine would be considered as another aspect altogether.
