If you are looking for a tabletop AV system then we think the Cambridge SoundWorks i765 will be apt. It may seem like a mirror image of the company's Radio CD 745i, but this one adds DVD playback and a top-mounted iPod dock besides featuring AM/FM radio, CD player, and dual-alarm system found on that earlier model. The system also includes digital HD Radio and supports XM satellite radio although you will need to add-on an antenna dongle and monthly subscription fee.

Cambridge SoundWorks i765 will be for sale online and at select Apple stores. It pinches your wallet as it is priced at $500.
